Columbia University recently held its annual Job Fair on April 10th, 2013. The event attracted a wide variety of employers from all over the country, eager to meet the talented students and alumni of Columbia University. The job fair began with an opening remarks by Dr. John H. Coatsworth, the Provost of Columbia University. He welcomed the employers and encouraged the students to take advantage of the opportunity. He also shared some of the great success stories from previous job fairs and encouraged the students to strive for excellence and take advantage of the resources available to them. The job fair featured a variety of employers from different industries. Recruiters from tech companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple were on-hand to discuss their job opportunities. Financial firms Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley were also there to discuss their internships and potential job opportunities. The fair was also a great opportunity for students to network and connect with potential employers. Students were able to speak with recruiters and ask them questions about their company and the job opportunities they offer. In addition, students were able to get a feel for the company culture and see if they would be a good fit. The job fair was also a great opportunity for students to practice their interview skills. Many of the employers offered mock interviews, giving students the chance to practice their interviewing skills in a low-pressure environment. Overall, the Columbia University Job Fair was a great success. With the help of the event, students were able to connect with employers, practice their interviewing skills, and get a better understanding of the job market.
